Ok, this is a summary post of the most frequently-reported problems in Endless. Hopefully people will read this and it will answer their question, and it'll cut out 90% of new threads here. Last updated August 22nd 2006

If you've been playing with the server settings in the hope of finding a different EO server, here's the details so you can fix it...
IP: 72.232.0.178
PORT: 8078
Onto the questions.
1: Can't install the game! It stops responding when it reaches 99%.
This is a common complaint with Endless, especially with the auto-setup. Don't cancel or close it, just leave it for... half an hour or so and it'll sort itself out and finish the install. ADDENDUM: turning off the virus scanner should speed it up as well. The official download is virus-free anyway, so there's no need to worry. (thanks Arvid)
2: Can't find server/connection lost
The server holds around 1200 players, and for around 18 hours a day it's full, so you'll have a lot of trouble trying to log on at peak times. This message is displayed when the server is full. It does not mean the server is down! For an overview of how full the server is at any given time, check the server page at:
http://game.endless-online.com/server.html
You should be seeing this error a lot less now since the server limit has almost tripled... but it still surfaces every now and then.
2a: That s##!! Why can't they get a bigger server?
Because Endless is being programmed, hosted and paid for by Vult-r and Aengie only. Servers cost money that the EO staff simply do not have.
2b: I wanna donate so we can get a bigger server!
No. This has been brought up many times, and the intention of EO is to provide a free game for all. By donating (even if it's optional) it technically won't be a free game, as well as donators seeing themselves as somehow better than non-donators. I'd be the first in line to donate if we had the chance, but this is how Vult-r wants to run the game so we have to deal with it.
3: Everyone is bald and naked!
A common graphical bug that appears after a new version is installed. Try restarting your computer. ADDENDUM: I've also found out that it does this after you've been changing options in the setup file - a quick restart always fixes it for me. ADDENDUM PART 2: Change your display settings to 16-bit. This also solves most graphical bugs.
4: Everything stops and I can't leave the room.
You've lost your connection. In v19 and before, the "Lost connection" message appeared, for some reason it doesn't in v20. It's annoying as it's sometimes hard to tell if you've just hit major lag at first (especially on dial-up), but if things don't start working again after 30 seconds then it's safe to assume you've lost it completely. Relog to get going again. No, there's nothing we can do until the server is bigger - see points 2 and 3 for the reason why we can't get a bigger server.
UPDATE: The "Lost connection" message is back for V22! =D
5: How do I raise stats?
Every time you level, you'll gain 3 stat points. Go to your character information and click on the relevant arrow to incrase that stat.
Str = attack power and total weight llimit
Agi = SP points
Int/Wis = Magic damage and total MP. Important to learn spells.
Con = Total HP.
Cha = will be used later on.
you can reset your stats if you have client version 24b or higher at the skill master in Aeven.
6: How do I get magic?
Talk to the skill masters in Aeven, Anundo, Halowdale and the Swamp. You must meet the minimum level and stat requirements to learn the spell. Aeven has healing magic, Anundo has the offensive spells. Halowdale has the Bard skill, and the Swamp NPC will teach you advanced magic.
7: How do I get this Frog Head/Orc Skull off?
Go to the grocery in Aeven and buy a Cure Potion to remove it.
8: How do I create/join a guild?
EO guilds, unlike some other games, are created and maintained by players. Some create guilds for a specific purpose, others do it to keep their friends together. To create a guild, you need a whopping 50,000 gold. It sounds daunting, but you also need a minimum of ten members to start - so get a group of friends together, raise 5k each, and you have your guild.
To join an existing guild, contact that guild's leader or a recruiter (Guild Bob in Aeven has the full member lists). Be prepared to pay 1k as an entrance fee, as recruitment takes 1000 gold from the guild bank and all but the richest guilds expect the new recruit to pay this. Happy hunting.
9: How do I make money?
This is one of EO's main challenges: money is hard to come by. There are many methods - such as hunting monsters for gold, raiding treasure chests, running errands for other players or even simply becoming a master merchant - buying low, selling high. It's completely up to you. Explore, experiment.
10: I got scammed!
As a general rule, EO admins cannot help victims of scams. Since it's almost impossible to prove that a scam took place (screenies can be set up, etc) and the admins get so many fake reports, there's really nothing they can do. Always use the trade window, watch the other person carefully and cancel immediately if you see any funny business going on.
11: How do I change my password?/I forgot my password.
It's a good idea to change it often, as people are sad enough to try anything to get your password (keylogging, guessing, etc). Once you login, on the character screen there is a button in the bottom-left corner to change your password.
If you forgot your password or someone changed it, check out http://www.endless-online.com/pwrecovery.html to have it emailed to the email address you signed up with.
12: I was hacked/scammed. What can I do about it?
Generally speaking, nothing. The admins get so many fake reports of scams that it's impossible to seperate real from fake, and any proof can easily be rigged up.
Hacking in Endless confuses a lot of people. Luckily there are people like Rashaln who understand it all. He sent me this list of 'hacks' through MSN to post here...
Rashaln wrote:Speed programs: Speed programs are NOT 'hacking' programs. Speed programs are a legitamate program for increasing the speed of a program on a performance computer. Speed programs are not designed to cheat at games normally, but to speed up programs with built-in speed limiters.
Auto-clickers: Also not 'hacks'. Auto-clickers are designed for lessening the actual physical clicking in an install program, or say you come across someone with 80 java popup windows on their website, set the auto and let it go. An auto clicker does not break through item protection, it can only pick up your own item faster. (I may be wrong on this.)
The drop-steal glitch: It doesn't exist now, but it was not a hack (in most cases), but one of the original clients, duplicated and given to someone. This no longer happens of course. Most people became confused and associated this with having an auto-clicker. No. People used autoclickers to click the item when they hit F12, but the auto-clicker was not the cause.
Actual 'hacks': Do not exist. The cloning was a 'hack' of sorts, but, is no longer able to be used. No real hacks exist for endless, because most game data is server-side, and therefore cannot be manipulated.
Cracker: A password cracker is a hacking tool. They are used to get someone's password by fooling a database into telling them if the password transmitted to them is a password or not. If you don't use an actual word in your password, and add some numbers, you're far more safe than if your password is "kittens" or "endless". You're even better off if your account name is not the same as your main character's name. Then the cracker doesn't have a base to start from, and your password is secure.
13: What can the admins do to help?
There are different levels of admin power in EO, ranging from simply kicking and jailing to pretty much anything. There's no point asking them to do certain things to certain people, because they most likely won't.
14. Help, I'm lost in the arena maze!
Not to worry, Animeninja has made a complete map of how to leave the maze. Handy eh?
http://www.endless-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php? t=21470
edit: THIS IS NOW ONLY VALID FOR THE FIRST 10% OF THE MAZE. THE REST IS VERY NEW AND HAS NOT BEEN MAPPED YET.
14a. Thanks, but now I'm lost in the dreamworld maze!
Not to worry, Animeninja's done that one too =]

15. I've been frozen, what happened?
This is the new speeding protection. Rather than relying on packets to detect speeders (which often caught innocent people when they lagged too much), it now relies on timestamps... sadly, it's a little too strict and can be set off far too easily, by something as simple as CPU lag if you're running other programs. To unfreeze yourself, log out, close the game and reopen it. If it keeps happening try closing unnecessary programs like MSN or Windows Media Player.
16. I hate this new login, how do I disable it?
To change the new softpad system to the old login, do the following:
-open C:/program files/endlessonline/config
-Open the Setup.ini notepad file
-change skipsoftpad=off to skipsoftpad=on
-File, save, exit. It'll have the old style login next time you open EO.
